Rob Thomson Jupiter | Students With Special Needs At Jupiter Community High School Get New Bus

There’s a new shiny ride at Jupiter Community High School.

On Thursday, a new bus for the kids in the Exceptional Student Education Program was revealed. The state-of-the-art bus is fully equipped with a wheelchair lift and air conditioning, all things their old bus didn’t have.

The program, which provides off-campus job training uses the bus for regular trips to local businesses and field trips.

“The fact that we have a bus now that can get us to all those different places is just amazing,” teacher and bus driver Helene McAfee said.

For the last year, donations from community members poured in. Jupiter Realtor Rob Thomson of Waterfront Properties, donated $53,500 matching all other donor contributions, helping to raise more than $100,000 to get the bus.

“If you can give back, give back, it means so much to these people, it feels good to give,” said Rob Thomson, with Waterfront Way Foundation.
